It's been warm for weeks so we thought it's about time to kick-off the season and sample Omaha's favorite white wine...Chardonnay! Sample from 10 wonderful Chardonnays - some that are fruit-forward, some that have more oaky tones, and some that see no oak at all.

Have you ever wanted to learn the basics of wine, but can't find a relaxed, unintimidating place to get your questions answered?  Or maybe you want to discover the world of white wine or dig deeper into the world of bold and beautiful reds. Well, now is your chance!  Brix is introducing a series of Wine Education classes that will not only be educational, but fun. 

Each 90-minute session is scheduled for a Monday or Tuesday night and will be taught by long-time local wine expert, John Finocchiaro. John has been part of the Omaha wine culture for more than 30 years and will bring his casual, fun, and informative teaching style to all four of these Brix Academy learning events. You'll also have plenty of great wines to try at each session!

Monday, May 14th:  "Wine Appreciation 101"

Learn the basics of wine, from how it's made all the way to what kind of glass to serve it in. If you want to learn the basics in wine appreciation, this class is for you!

Monday, May 21st:  "World of Whites"

Discover the world of white wine, from sweet Moscatos to dry, oaky Chardonnays. Learn the many options you have when it comes to great whites, not only for the warm weather season, but anytime!

Tuesday, May 29th:  "Soft & Elegant"

Here you'll be experiencing red wines that are soft and easy drinking, yet elegant with a fantastic range of flavors. Think Pinot Noir, Merlot, Garnacha, and other wonderful reds we know you'll love!

Tuesday, June 5th:  "Bold & Beautiful"

These wines will let you know who's the boss! From a spicy Australian Shiraz to a bold Cabernet Sauvignon from the Napa Valley, these wines have some serious backbone!

Each session costs $30.00/person or you can purchase all four sessions for $100.00. Attendance for each session will be limited to 50 people, so don't wait to sign-up. What a great gift idea!

We're pleased to welcome winemaker Megan Gunderson from the Hall winery as she plays host to an evening of phenomenal wines, fantastic food, and great company. The menu Chef Erik has planned for that evening is amazing, as he pairs it with one of the most respected names in the Napa Valley....Hall!
 
Megan will be showcasing three classic wines from the Hall label, as well as introducing two wines from their new label, Walt*. We're proud to be one of the first markets to receive the Walt, limited-production wines and it's sure to be an evening to remember. The Rombauer Winery is out of their current vintage of Chardonnay, meaning you won't see Rombauer Chardonnay back until September.
